The subject is Aina

An owl flies in the distance, the Aina watches there
A man climbs a mountain just to see if the clouds care
Just to see if the clouds care
And the river she runs all the way down to the sea
As if to meet her maker, as if to be complete
As if to be complete
I will tell you a tale, one that so many more than I can
We’re all widows in a web in the body we call man
In the body we call man
So why is it not the time to ask why it is that we’ve come
Is it to buy our trinkets and wine until another day is done
Until another day is done
And the sailors watch over me, as the sun goes slowly down
I can hear all the widows weep, as I lay my burden down
For misery loves its company, we’re a family do or die
To stand alone is seen as blasphemy, ‘you never mind your questions why’
‘You never mind your questions why’
But I have come back down to the valley like a river, like a song
Come back down to my family where I belong
Where I belong
And the sailors watch over me, as the sun goes slowly down
I can hear all the widows weep, as I lay my burden down
I can hear the waves rolling in, showing me the way to get back home
Mother Tongue is talking story, teaching us the ways of this holy ground
upon which we stand
An owl flies in the distance, the Aina watches there
A man climbs a mountain just to see if the clouds care
Just to see if he dared
Just to leave his burden there
