Music Concert Postcards

The new "10,000 Maniacs", April 23, 1994

As you probably know, The 10,000 Maniacs are the "big" band to come out of Jamestown in the 80's. Originally almost a punk band, the band evolved with Natalie Merchant as lead vocalist and song writer. This postcard for a Keg Room show reads in part...

"Maniacs? Ex-Maniacs? Future Maniacs? We don't know, nobody knows--if they do, they're not saying".

This show was a kind of test drive for the Maniacs after Natalie Merchant had left the band and the former members, John returned. Mary had been working with John. She took over as lead vocalist at this concert. The admission was $7 and a portion of the gate were used to assist Richie & Jennie Stearns (early members of Donna the Buffalo) with some unexpected medical expenses. The Maniacs do a lot of benefits to this day.
