Coe Road Overgrown Tractor

A weedy mystery:

the farmer's heart

or the tractor's?

Flowers brighten the grave.

 

This abandoned tractor sits in an overgrown meadow surrounded by flowers, evoking the plowed fields of a working farm from another generation. We are perched at the top of Chautauqua watershed looking east into the Cassadaga Valley, which contains the aquifer that supplies the drinking water for the city of Jamestown. The picture was taken on Coes Road between Barber Road and Route 86 in the town of Stockton.
