Clifton Avenue Duck Crossing
Ducks paddle up sunlight
across the glassy brown outlet
to reach a stone's throw
from the city boys.

We found this hidden treasure just a few hundred feet from Fluvanna Avenue. It is part of the Chautauqua Lake outlet, which flows through Jamestown into the Chadaquoin River. On its way, the outlet passes Clifton Avenue, in the town of Ellicott. Clifton ends in a short footpath to the water. It appears to be a fishing spot, and is certainly a precious retreat from the industrial area nearby.
